Live Webinar: Grid Modernization – Technology and Innovation

Webinar Date

29th May 2019

Time

1530 Hrs IST

The current trend of decarbonisation leads to reliance of renewable energy in the electricity grid. Highly variable and intermittent generation poses a challenge due to current limited flexibility in load and coal based generation in India’s national transmission grid.  Further, the Indian power sector is witnessing unprecedented cahanges in both T&D infrastructure and the way it is operated. Operators are facing the challenge of digitalizing age-old infrastructure to meet new regulations and address other areas such as allowing distributed energy resource integration and implementing cyber security protection measures.

A key prerequisite to Modernize the grid is to make it smarter and more resilient through the use of cutting-edge technologies, equipment and controls systems. Consumers can better manage their own energy consumption and costs because they have easier access to their own data. Utilities also benefit from a modernized grid, including improved security, reduced peak loads, increased integration of renewables, and lower operational costs.

The webinar on GRID Modernization will engage the grid operators, T&D Utilities, policy makers and Technology providers, to deliberate discussions to strengthen, transform, and improve energy grid infrastructure to ensure access to reliable, secure, and clean sources of energy.
