Due to a supreme court restriction on construction activity in New Delhi which included a complete construction ban in November and a night time construction ban during 6 PM to 6 AM from December, IECC, Pragati Maidan (ITPO) the venue of the next edition of POWERGEN India, Indian Utility Week & Distributech India is yet to complete integration works of the new complex & receive full H&S regulatory approval documents.
Despite this several international exhibitions were hosted in the newly constructed halls since the turn of the year; however these events were not provided H&S endorsements by respective regulatory authorities. Taking cognizance of the same, the venue has now requested organiser of all upcoming events until May 2020 to shift their event dates to a later date. The impending full Occupational Certificates/H&S Approvals for the new complex are expected to be issued by then.
For us at Clarion Events & ITEN Media the safety of all our participants is paramount and as organisers have a duty of care for you as clients and all participants to have full H&S certificates.
Therefore as a precaution to minimise any disruption/inconvenience we have taken steps to arrange a contingency plan. Following extensive discussions with the ITPO management, advisory committee, current utility partners, key stakeholders and assessment of other global energy event landscape we have taken steps to secure a new dateline 7 weeks later on 23-25 June which is conducive to their continued participation and support.
Although this is not common practice for Clarion & ITEN it is a unique set of circumstances resulting in a business decision that we have taken in the best interest of all.
We have been assured that attendance will not be impacted and the resultant date move provides the opportunity for larger delegations and greater attendance from our primary market (Utilities, Power Producers, EPC’s & Regulators). Steps have been taken to mitigate any risk and ensure a successful delivery of the show.
The teams will make every effort to retain your preferences as per original bookings.
